This exciting start-up is building an AI-native platform tailored for investment research. Founded in late 2023 by a team with extensive experience in startups, financial services, and leading AI labs, the company has brought together talent from organizations such as Google DeepMind, JP Morgan, and Meta AI. Following a successful Pre-Seed funding round in December 2023, the company is preparing to announce its Seed raise as it continues to expand and collaborate with early customers.
The start-up's mission is to create AI agents capable of analyzing and integrating diverse financial and market data sources. Its products are designed to meet the unique demands of institutional investors, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and privacy.
Role Overview
The AI Engineer will play a key role in developing and deploying AI-driven solutions that form the backbone of the platform. Responsibilities include building machine learning models, optimizing their performance, and ensuring seamless integration within a microservices-based architecture. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the intelligence, reliability, and scalability of the platform, working closely with back-end, data, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable, multi-modal language model-based AI agents.
- Research and develop solutions for AI challenges, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, knowledge representation, tool usage, fine-tuning, and reasoning in large language models.
- Design and implement evaluations, metrics, and benchmarks for AI performance.
- Present innovative solutions through proofs of concept (POCs) and demos, converting them into high-quality production-ready code.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and other team members to drive innovation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required:
- A degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills, particularly with Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with mathematical concepts relevant to ML, such as linear algebra, probability, statistics, and multivariate calculus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of recent advancements in large language models and AI agents.
- Experience in industrial research through internships or AI/ML engineering roles.
- A track record of writing production-ready code.
- Academic research experience demonstrated through projects or publications.
