If you can imagine 21 people in a 5* luxury resort in the Algarve with a private beach, glorious sunshine, superb food, and lots of laughs – you’ve pretty much summed up our TEC Partners’ first incentive trip of the year.
In a previous post, we announced that our teams had absolutely smashed their Q1 target, and that we were all off to the beautiful Algarve for our first incentive of the year. So on Thursday 31st May, we arrived at the office, bleary-eyed, at 4am ready to board the mini-bus to the airport – where the fun really started.
Once we arrived at Stansted, fueled by a Weatherspoons’ breakfast, we were ready for our flight to whisk us away to the sunshine.
We arrived at the Sao Rafael Atlantico hotel around 1pm, where the first order of business was to change into something more weather appropriate, and whilst some of us went down to explore the hotel’s private beach, the rest of us rooted ourselves to a sunbed for the afternoon to relax, preserving energy ready for the evening ahead.
Our first dinner was at the beautiful Casa Da Fonte in the busy, little streets of Albufeira’s old town, where we enjoyed authentic Portuguese food and cocktails, before heading off into the heart of the old town to check out the nightlife.
The following day we packed our sun cream and spent the day basking in the sunshine at the Slide & Splash water park in Estombar. It was clear to see who had a real competitive streak during the various TEC Partners water slide races throughout the day, with unlucky Sahil sadly losing every single one! It was as great day out, and great to have the two offices all together having fun in the sun.
Friday night’s dinner took place at The Warehouse in Albufeira’s old town, a steakhouse offering superb food, and possibly the best Chateaubriand steaks that some of our guys have eaten! Friday was definitely the tamest night of the trip, with a few of the group heading back to the hotel after dinner, in a bid to “save themselves” for the last night.
Saturday was our last full day in the Algarve, so a few of us headed off into the town to check out the local bars (obviously), shops, and the beach, some of the guys went off to play golf, while a couple of us stayed at the resort and made use of the spa facilities.
Our last night in Portugal was spent at the Cabana Fresca, another traditional Portuguese restaurant with stunning views of the sea. The gins started flowing early and continuing well into the late evening, before we headed back into the old town to the nearest karaoke bar. Archie was the first of the TEC Partners posse to brave the stage with his rendition of Careless Whisper by George Michael, closely followed by Paul Kitley, not to be outdone, with his unique charming version of Hello by Adele.
Sunday was home time for us, and the effects of the previous night were well and truly visible, as one by one we gathered in the lobby, bottles of water in hand, paracetamol in pocket, and uttering the famous last words: “I’m never. Drinking. Again.”
All in all we had a fantastic time, everyone got back in one piece, and normality has ensued.
Fancy joining us on our next incentive? Great news, we are hiring Recruitment Consultants of all levels to join our growing teams! Please check out our Work For Us page for all the latest details.
