Electronic Engineer – (PCB Altium)
This position is an opportunity to influence high impact disruptive projects with the research of this businesses products. This is the future of cloud infrastructure working alongside world leading researchers and engineers. Comprising of software, optics, mechanics and electronics experts. The business are a global leader in technology and this quite possibly one of the premium research facilities to work for in Cambridge and are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join them.
6 month contract
Skill set required:
Analogue and opto-electronics: complete design from paper study to simulation to ECAD
Ability to understand system level constraints and work with lead hardware engineer and cross discipline researchers to develop suitable electronic design
Strong understanding of filtering, noise, and control systems
Hands on bench debugging and use of test equipment e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyser, logic analyser
Electronic simulation software e.g. Spice, Ansys
Prototyping with development kits, test equipment, and 3rd party hardware
Altium PCB schematic and layout
PCB assembly and hand soldering of surface mount components
Desirable:
Digital electronic design, board level and HDL
High frequency analogue, radio, and digital
Microcontroller firmware for embedded applications
Motors and robotics
Higher level software for experimentation, testing, automation, integration, or demonstration (e.g. Python, C#)
