Job Title: Desktop Engineer (2nd Line)
Type: Contract (3 months – possible extensions)
We are assisting our client in the search for an experienced 2nd Line Desktop Engineer to join their team in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, high levels of technical proficiency gained through commercial experience in an IT support role and the ability to hit the ground running.
Technical skills and attributes:
Exceptional customer service and communication skills gained in a similar IT support role
Knowledge and experience of ITIL processes and Service level Agreements
An organised and diligent approach to work
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with excellent attention to detail
Excellent technical knowledge and proven commercial experience with PC hardware components, peripherals and operating Systems – experience with Mac is a huge plus!
Active Directory, Office365, Kaspersky
SCCM and JAMF
Main duties and responsibilities:
Logging customer issues and requests via Service Desk ticketing systems
Perform installations, repairs, maintenance, diagnosis and analysis of desktop issues or requests
Ensure swift and timely response to customer requests and escalate issues correctly, ensuring all relevant information has been captured accurately.
Ensure that physical desktop connections & cabling from wall/floor junctions to device are maintained to a tidy & safe standard in liaison with other IT teams & Facilities.
