Contract Groovy Developer

We have a fantastic opportunity based in Central London for a full stack Java Developer with Groovy experience. If you have worked with Ruby, Scala, Clojure this would be an advantage but not essential.

The role requires the ideal candidate to build, maintain and support high-quality software components in both D2C and B2B websites, targeting both mobile and desktop platforms

Ideal candidates will have experience and knowledge in the following:

* Sound understanding of fundamental CS concepts (data structures, algorithms, design patterns)
* Excellent, in-depth Java knowledge
* Commercial use of Java dynamic languages (ideally Groovy)
* Building and consuming Rest APIs and services using common frameworks, e.g. Spring Boot
* Building internet-facing web applications
* Demonstrable commercial exposure to Agile development processes such as SCRUM, TDD

Desirable Experience

* Front-end development using JavaScript frameworks, e.g. jQuery, AngularJS, React
* Building cloud-based software, e.g. AWS
* Qualified to degree level (2:1 or above)
* Understanding of insurance industry
