Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and people development? We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing and logistics functions at a high-performing site in Bristol.
In this pivotal role, you'll work alongside the Operations Director to shape and deliver a strategic business plan, drive continuous improvement, and ensure excellence across cost, quality, service, health and safety, compliance, and performance. You'll lead a talented site team and play a key role in engaging staff with the wider business vision.
The working hours for this role are 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday - however, you will need to be available to be on call as and when required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a business plan that aligns operations, engineering, transport, sales, and finance to meet performance goals
- Deliver targets for EBITDA, service levels, and operational efficiency
- Manage capital expenditure, maintenance, and inventory to reduce cost and stock losses
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to enhance collaboration and customer service
- Promote a "safety-first" culture while ensuring full legal, environmental, and feed compliance
- Inspire and develop your team with structured succession planning and training programmes
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and uphold the company's professional reputation
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in a senior operational or manufacturing leadership role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, transport & logistics processes
- Commercial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and costs
- A proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational abilities
- IT literacy and a strong safety and compliance mindset
Desirable:
Located within 30 miles of Bristol (preferred but not essential)
