Job Title: System Specialist
Location: Field-Based (UK, occasional international travel)
Reports to: Service Manager - System Specialists
Role Overview:
As a System Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting integrated theatres and bespoke visual communication systems in UK healthcare establishments. Your role will encompass both hands-on maintenance and technical troubleshooting, while ensuring adherence to high-quality standards as defined by the Technical Services Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planned Preventative Maintenance & Support:
- Perform routine maintenance visits at customer sites and in the Head Office repair facility, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
- Provide installation and commissioning support in line with project documentation.
- Conduct customer visits to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment.
- Stay updated on new products and technologies, continually enhancing your expertise.
- Ensure that all technical standards and quality procedures are followed during each task.
- Accurately log and update issues and service records, keeping the Service Manager informed on progress.
2. Continuous Learning & Professional Development:
- Participate in training sessions both in the UK and abroad, keeping your technical skills and product knowledge sharp.
- Maintain personal responsibility for company-provided equipment, including ensuring your vehicle is in top condition.
3. Customer Relationship & Service Agreements:
- Actively promote Maintenance Agreements to both new and existing customers, strengthening long-term partnerships.
4. General Responsibilities:
- Handle all necessary administrative duties related to your role.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, including Health, Safety, and Welfare protocols.
- Be flexible and responsive to any additional duties as assigned by your manager or company needs.
Special Conditions:
- Due to the nature of this field-based role, there will be a requirement for unsociable hours, regular travel, and occasional weekend work.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with company Health & Safety policies, especially during manual handling tasks.
- Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ONC or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a field service or engineering role.
- Knowledge of PC-based systems, Audio/Visual equipment, and networking is advantageous.
- A full UK driving license is essential.
- Familiarity with ISO13485 and 9001 environments is a plus.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Strong technical background in electronic engineering and IT.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and risk awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently with a commercial mindset.
